“My parents were not winemakers, but my grandfather and aunt were. I worked for Domaine Lecheneaut & Fils before I established my own domaine in 2013, and gradually, bit-by-bit, starting from zero, expanded holdings to 4.10 hectares. They are farmed organically and certified (AB). The parcels are dispersed quite widely in the Haute-Côtes, Nuits Saint-Georges and Chorey-lès-Beaune. Starting with a blank page, my approach had been to try and find the best locations within the climats. That is the guiding principle. There are quite a few plots of old vine. The most important thing is to translate the typicité, so there is no new oak. I want to avoid the influence of wood. Most of the barrels are over three years old. Since 2020, we have started using more whole bunch, depending on the age of the vine or the sanitary condition and so forth.” Vincent Ledy
