The 2021 Insoglio del Cinghale is rich with crushed lavender, purple plum, mocha, and black pepper and plush and compelling with its aromatics. Full-bodied, it is ripe with dark black cherry fruit, turned earth, and a clean lift off the finish. There are well integrated tannins and has a pleasing mineral touch. The former wine director in me would jump on this as a fantastic wine by the glass option, as it casts a large net of appeal and checks a lot of boxes for the price.
