This perfumed, rich, yet lively red, made from 90-year-old vines, comes from the foothills of Mount Etna in Sicily, and it has all the nervous energy I have come to expect from wines made in the shadow of that active volcano. I love the play of sweet and bitter flavors, balanced by acidity and the barest scrape of tannins.
