The quite clayey calcareous soil gives Pommard some quite original qualities: a lot of color, deep red black, intense and pungent bouquet of blackcurrants, musk and game meat.
Pommard is often considered the most masculine Côte de Beaune red. This is a firm, full-bodied wine that is nevertheless exceptionally round and generous, with a fruity depth of character and earthy aromas and flavors.
