Château Beynat is a dynamic centenarian: the Nebout family acquired it in 1917 and then by marriage the Borliachion family ran it until 2008. Alain Tourenne and his Magic Team have propelled it into the 21st century with a certification as an organic wine in 2011 and biodynamic in 2019 (Demeter label) with the greatest respect for the Vine and the Earth.
Alain Tourenne took over Château Beynat in 2008, immediately setting about converting the estate to organic farming. He obtained certification in 2011, and has now adopted biodynamic practices as well. The wine is 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. It is fermented with wild yeasts in cement tanks, where it is aged for 15 months. Minimal or no sulphur is used. This is a lovely fresh, natural Bordeaux.
The nose is clearly printed by saline notes from limestone, and the palate offers a delicious raspberry fruit, with a little spice and hint of cinnamon.
