A solid amber in the glass, the nose consists of neapolitan ice cream, star anise, blackcurrant and menthol. The palate starts out surprisingly oily, and the overall fruitiness of this bourbon is very easy to pick out. The flavors to find here are toffee, black licorice, amarena cherry, and the most distinctive of all, fresh strawberry. The acidity gives an almost jammy quality with a warming spice that carries into the long finish. The qualities of this barrel are somewhat unusual, but they provide a very rewarding experience.
